Applique Romper

Well I seemed to squeeze in a few minutes to make a sample of the new appliqued romper.  These rompers are made by Monag. Monag makes wonder products, very nice quality cotton!! not the cheap stuff!! These  little rompers are so easy to wear, change diapers, and look so comfy!  No baby can have enough!

This romper is appliqued with an anchor using red and blue plaid fabric. Great outfit for beach pics. I can do any of my other appliques on this romper and will work on more samples.

TGIF

I love Fridays, but for some reason they always seem to be busier than planned.  I was thinking we would sleep in, stay in our pj's a little longer and then get to the gym and do our errands a little later than ususal.  Who am I kidding!!  With an almost 2 yr old and 4 yr old who wake up when they hear the big girls, sleeping in is impossible.  I also realized today was the last time my 5th grader would anchor their school morning news broadcast, so I got the little ones dressed quickly and raced off to the elementary school. Upon finishing there, we headed to the donut store for a chocolate donut and then to work it off at the gym.  Home by 10am. A good feeling. 

I'm now embroidered some towels for a friend as I type. Big girls will be home soon and the craziness begins. But fortunately its Friday so we won't have to worry about homework.  Just baking cookies for Relay for Life, one soccer practice, one soccer game and Relay for Life. 

I'm very ready to move on from my big embroidered shirt order to make up some samples and get them listed on my Etsy site.   

busy day

Its been a busy day begining the day with meeting with a friend to help embellish a shirt for a horse show while she updated me on some of the storm damage.  Homes gone, ponds gone.. where do the ponds go?

My package from Monag arrived with more shirts and some of the new rompers I ordered. I'm anxious to get a sample made up.  Monag makes very high quality items such as knit shirts, t shirts, knit dresses, baby gowns and so on. I've been very please with them. Much nicer than shirts I was using in the past.

I've been working hard trying to get my 30 shirt order done, 6 to go!! I'll have them done and in the mail early next week.  I'll post a pic later.  Each shirt is customized with fabric for the applique, color of thread to outline letters.

A night of tornados

Well the morning after a night of tornados. One even just a few miles south of my house.  We woke all the girls up around 11:30pm to head to the basement. The 8 yr old was a challenge to wake and direct down 2 flights of stairs.  She didn't remember a thing this morning.  We sat in the basement until around 1am when it looked like all was clear.  A tornado had just passed thru Brooks, Ga  just a few miles south of us.  I'm waiting to hear from several friends who live in that area.  It really hit home to hear about an 11yr old girl in her bed, her bed with her asleep in it was picked up adn tossed, bedroom completely demolished.  She escaped with just a few scrapes. WOW. 

Of course while sitting in my basement, I was thinking of all the stuff in the house and if a tornado were to hit us.  Besides the girls, I thought about my embroidery machine and the big shirt order i'm working on. 
Fortunatly it all came to pass.

I'm am awaiting the arrival of a new stock of Monag shirts and knit rompers.  Some of the romper sizes are on backorder, but I'll get enough to start working on some samples. 

I'm working on some summer shirts.  I've got a butterfly sample made.  Some other designs I have are firecracker, dragonfly, anchor, "gone fishing', cross, pig, bird and more.
